ZMĚNA – VE ČTVRTEK JE SENÁT A VEČER PŘEDSTAVENÍ KANDIDÁTŮ AKADEMICKÉ OBCI AVU!

TAKŽE FLORA PŘIJDE V PÁTEK V 11 HODIN!

Ve čtvrtek 22. října v 10 ráno přijde Flora Maeve Parrot, mladá absolventka grafiky na Royal College of Art v Londýně; připravte si otázky, pozvěte další lidi.

Flora Maeve Parrott / Biography

Flora Parrott graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters in Printmaking in 2009. Her first solo show ‘Inhale / Hold It’, curated by Alternative Arts, was in an empty shop space in Marble Arch for the month of July. She is currently a Part-time lecturer at Norwich College of Art and making new work for a show with Thomas Adank at the London College of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, a solo show in North Yorkshire and a series of projections on to the ruins of Coventry Cathedral with Lisa Gunn.

Flora studied for her undergraduate course at the Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town, South Africa and went on to graduate in Printmaking from the Glasgow School of Art in 2004. She spent a year in Australia as the Artist in residence at The Regents Court Hotel, Sydney, during which she started a project about the use of silk in WW2. This project was completed on a three month residency at Megalo Print Press in Canberra. The piece, a full-scale, hand made silk parachute was exhibited in Sydney and in the UK.

In 2007 Flora came back to the UK and received an Arts Council Grant to make a series of works about the production of silk maps in Yorkshire, where my family are based. This project lead to a commission by the Ryedale Folk Museum to design three panes of etched glass for their Walkers’ Rest Centre.

In March 2009 Flora was a speaker at the 3d Print Symposium at the V & A at which she spoke about two printed sculptures made in collaboration with Visual Effects Supervisor Pete Wallace. Her background is in traditional printmaking – drawing and etching are central to her practise – but her work now focuses on the links between print, drawing and sculpture and looking at ways in which new technologies can be used and still adhere to some of the basic theories and principals of printmaking.

Flora v pátek v 11

Takže Flora přijde v pátek v 11 hodin; předpokládám, že to celé bude trvat přes hodinu.

Budeme možná v té posluchárně o poschodí níž.
Nebo třeba bude stačit u obrazovky v ateliéru.
